Rings are equippable items in Sherwood Dungeon that give the player bonus health, armor, or both. They are sold by merchants, found in dungeon chests, and dropped by monsters. There many different rings, however all fall into one of four major categories:

Selecting a Ring[]
The player should always have a ring equipped as they will almost always allow the player to survive more hits. The degree to which a ring aids survivability depends on the type of ring as well as whether or not the player chooses to use a shield.
For players opting to dual wield weapons, there is actually very little difference between the four ring types (tested for PVE only at player level 126). The health rings and armor rings allow the player to survive on average 14 hits from a Venom Critter discounting passive healing while the Ring of Unnatural Health and the hybrid rings allow the player to survive on average 15 hits. Due to the random nature of the damage dealt per hit by monsters however, this difference will not always be noticeable under real combat conditions. Without any ring equipped, the player will survive on average 13 hits from a Venom Critter.
For players opting to fight with a shield, there seems to be a slightly more noticeable difference in benefit between the four ring types (tested for PVE only at player level 126) due to player already being able to survive on average 1.6 times more hits with the armor bonus granted by the shield. The health rings allow the player to survive on average 21 hits from a Venom Critter whereas the Ring of Unnatural Health appears to boost the player's survivability by just one more hit on average. The hybrid rings and the armor rings however allow the player to survive on average 23 hits from the Venom Critter. Once again it is worth mentioning that due to the random nature of damage dealt by monsters as well as many other factors, in practice the player may not experience considerable differences between these rings. Without any ring, a shield bearing player will survive an average of 19 hits from the Venom Critter.
In summary, there appears to be only a small difference between the rings, if any, in terms of how much longer they allow the player to survive in combat. If a decision needs to be made however, players opting to wield two weapons should consider equipping either the Ring of Unnatural Health or a health+armor ring whereas players opting to use a shield may experience slightly better survivability by equipping any of the health+armor or pure armor rings.
History[]
- In previous versions of Sherwood Dungeon, there existed the rings of 100% healing, 66% healing and 33% healing. The ring of 100% healing was overwhelmingly the best ring in the game due to it effectively doubling the player's healing rate. In a future update however, developer Gene Endrody removed the rings and instead adjusted the player's healing rate to be equal to that of having the Ring of 100% Healing equipped. The ring was replaced by the ring of unnatural health in the same update.
